What’s the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear the word cannabis? I’m sure your thoughts are flooded with a feeling of high. As a Cannabis doctor, there are a lot of terms that come to my mind when we talk about cannabis. Some are THC, CBD, indica, Sativa, edibles, and well the list goes on. Cannabis is an ecosystem in itself. There are endless possibilities for discussion and people love talking about it. Well, I love that too. So, we’re probably on the same page. I am about to equip you with a dictionary. Stay tuned.

A: Access Point

Ever been to a dispensary? If you’re a cannabis enthusiast, I’m sure you might have paid a visit to source your favorite bud. Well, the access point is just another name for that. It’s basically a state-authorized store where medical cannabis patients can purchase their stock of cannabis. Well, when you plan to visit an access point, make sure it’s licensed to ensure you get top-quality cannabis, and if it’s a medical-only dispensary you have an okay from your cannabis doctor.

B: Bud

B: Bud

This one is quite a buzz word. “Hey! I need a dank bud. It’s been a while since I’ve been high.” I know you can relate. In simple terms, the bud is just another word for the cannabis flower. These nugget shaped buds are a result of proper trimming and harvest. It’s the part of the plant that you crush and roll in a paper to smoke up.

C: Cannabidiol

CBD or cannabidiol is one of the major active compounds in the cannabis plant. It’s highly praised for its medicinal properties. The best thing about CBD is that it produces beneficial effects without inducing a high. It’s commonly available in the form of oils, tinctures, edibles, bath bombs, etc.

D: Dab

The dab is a cannabis concentrate that packs a lot more punch than a normal joint or bong. It’s mostly in the form of wax, hash, and shatter. The process of dab is called dabbing. You just heat the concentrate and inhale the vapors to feel the effects. This is a recommended form of consumption by a Cannabis doctor .

E: Endocannabinoid System

Ever wondered how cannabis induces its magic on your body? It’s through the endocannabinoid system. It consists of the receptors, endocannabinoids, and enzymes. So, when you ingest cannabis, the active compounds THC and CBD interact with the receptors to produce the feel-good hormones. So, it’s the endocannabinoid system that dictates the entire mechanism of cannabis in the body.

F: Feminized Seeds

Feminized seeds produce female cannabis plants. They’re better because the THC and CBD content is higher. Also, they grow faster. So, the growers don’t really have to wait much for the harvest. The produce is more as the seeds eliminate the possibility of a male part in the cannabis plant. So, you don’t really need to trim much.

G: Grinder

G: Grinder

Seasoned marijuana smokers surely know this. Well, if you don’t have one, I have one in my pocket. I’d share it with a smile. A grinder is a circular metal device used to crush the bud for making a blunt, joint, and bong. It consists of sharp teeth that break the bud into fine parts. It sifts through the different sections of the device and the kief descends at the bottom. There’s no doubt that the device is handy.

H: Hybrid

A cross between two different strain genetics is called a hybrid. In most cases, they’re selectively bred to blend the traits of different varieties to create something more powerful. The hybrid strains are particularly more popular as they offer more variety in taste, potency, and subsequent effects.

I: Indica

O: Ounce

An ounce is basically 28 grams of cannabis. That equals four quarters of the herb. It’s a popular term that people use while buying from the store. With the okay of a cannabis doctor, you will be allowed to carry 8 ounces at a time.

P: Pairings

When you combine cannabis with something else, it basically makes a pairing. For instance, if you blend cannabis with coffee, it’s a pairing. It usually results in something absolutely delicious. So, what’s your favorite pairing? Do a check-up with your cannabis doctor to be sure that there are no medications that you might be on that might have an adverse reaction to cannabis.

Q: Queen

Cannabis deserves respect in every way possible. I’m sure you agree with that. Queen is just a way of referring to a female cannabis plant. Breeders particularly prefer the feminized seeds due to their high harvest.

R: Ruderalis

Apart from indica, and Sativa, ruderalis is the third variation of the cannabis plant. Although it is not as common as other varieties, ruderalis is an auto-flowering cannabis plant. It’s particularly high in the non-psychoactive compound that is cannabidiol or CBD.

S: Sativa

We’ve discussed indica and ruderalis. Now, it’s time for Sativa. This variety of strain is known to induce euphoric effects on you. It will make you feel energetic and it’s ideally suited for day time. It gives rise to creativity and you’ll naturally feel more excited in your daily routine.

T: THC

Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is one of the main active compounds present in the cannabis plant. The high you feel after smoking cannabis is because of THC. This happens because it’s psychoactive and it makes you feel uplifted. People swear by the THC content a particular strain offers and is one of the main reasons for the popularity of cannabis. And, it’s not just limited to that, THC holds great medicinal value. The high THC strains are commonly used to manage anxiety, pain, and loss of appetite.
