Instructions

#1 Decarboxylation of cannabis:

The first and most crucial step is decarboxylating your cannabis buds, as this step will determine whether you’ll end up eating actual chocolate infused with cannabis or just chocolate, but, of course, under the illusion that you’ve made cannabis chocolate. Ideally, you want to avoid the later result.

First preheat oven to 240 degrees F.

#2 Melt your chocolate in a double-boiler:

Set up an improvised double boiler and melt the broken chocolate bars. Get a pot and pour some water into it. Ensure the water is not touching the tip of the pot; three-quarter full is sufficient. Now, place a smaller pot on top of the first pot and preheat the water over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes.

Add your chocolate bars into the pot and heat for a few minutes to allow the bars to melt. The water should be simmering and not boiling. Stir the chocolate until it melts altogether, leaving you with a thick, dense velvet juice. This is the double boiler set-up.

It ensures that the chocolate melts entirely without burning or sticking to the body of the pot. Turn off the heat as soon as you achieve this.

#3 Mix, the ground, decarboxylated cannabis with the melted chocolate:

Mix the ingredients by pouring the cannabis into the pan containing the melted chocolate. Stir thoroughly to ensure the mixture is finely mixed.

#4 Pour the mixture into molds and get rid of air bubbles:

Get your chocolate mold and pour the mixture into them while it is still hot. If you do not have chocolate molds, you can improvise with an ice cube tray or pour it all into a big container so that you get a large chocolate block.

The only disadvantage with the last alternative is that it can be hard cutting the cannabis-infused block of chocolate when it sets. To expel any air bubbles trapped in the molds or ice cube tray, lift the molds gently and tap the bottom on the kitchen countertop. Also, ensure that you do not fill the molds to the brim.

#5 Refrigerate the cannabis chocolate and eat them as you need them:

If you don’t refrigerate, it may take a bit longer to set. However, if you store them in a fridge or freezer, it takes less time, about 10 minutes, to set, and you can be about your daily business.
