Liberty Health Sciences opened a pharmacy in Port Charlotte this week.
“This is where health meets science,” said Branch Manager Brian Searing. “When you work here, you see your customers developing positively.”
Searing has been working for the company at Bonita Springs and Cape Coral for two years.
He worked in car dealerships for many years before his ophthalmologist told him he needed a new job.
“After my eye exam, the doctor saw that I had eye hypertension that was related to stress. So I decided to change something, ”said Searing.
As a medical card holder, Searing was already aware of the benefits of medical marijuana.
Now he’s a strong believer in what he thinks are the benefits of the products.
“You hear so many stories from people,” he said. “Work can be a real flow of tears.”
Searing recalled meeting a mother whose child had multiple sclerosis and needed something other than prescription drugs. “Helping our clients heal is worth everything.”
He was surprised by the average age of the customers with a lot of customers in the 60s and 70s.
Deputy Managing Director Anthony Samborski was determined to start in a new field after almost 20 years in the restaurant industry.
“We are excited to start something new and bring the people of Port Charlotte access to our products.”
The opening of the new location has been kept under wraps, but a grand opening is expected to be announced soon. Even so, they had a queue at the door on their first Tuesday day.
The company has 30 locations across the state and plans to expand to 40 by the end of the year.
The pharmacy is located at 4656 Tamiami Trail. They work Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m.
